After you have created an action tree, you must perform a few steps to activate it. In general, you need to save the tree, return to the instance overview page, publish and restart the instance.

However, creating an action tree is not always that simple - especially if it is your first action tree with ELOxc EWS. The Troubleshooting chapter contains a guide to eliminating problems during action tree construction.

Steps to publish and activate an action tree:

1. Click through each of the actions in the tree and make sure that the correct settings have been entered to each node.

2. Click Validate to perform an automatic check on the action tree. If any errors appear, correct them before proceeding.

3. Return to the instance overview page. Click Publish Changes to save the updated configuration.

4. Stop the instance if it is currently running. Click Start to start the instance with the updated configuration.

5. Let the instance run for a few minutes. Check the log files, as well as the results in both the ELO repository and in the Exchange store.

Some problems may only become apparent in one of these areas and not in the other two.
