Installation
In this chapter, we guide you through the installation of the ELO Administration Console and get you started. We point out the system requirements and explain what preparations you need to make before installation.

System requirementsWarning: The version of the ELO Administration Console must be compatible with the corresponding ELO Indexserver. Please also read the notes in the server setup.
Preparing for installation
Install at least one repository in ELO, if you have not already done so.
Information: Make sure you run the installation as administrator. Ensure that you have sufficient rights when working in Windows 7, Windows 8.x or Windows 10.

1. Stop the Tomcat server (ELO Application Server).
TomcatInformation: If necessary, use the tasklist and taskkill commands in the console to terminate processes.
2. Copy the installation files to the <webapps> directory. Create a backup copy of the files you want to replace. Replace existing files from a previous version if applicable.
Alternatively: If you only want to update the ELO Administration Console, you need the AdminConsole.war file. Copy the WAR file to the webapps directory; for example to C:\ELOprofessional\prog\webapps. Make sure that the other program components and modules are compatible with the new ELO Administration Console. If necessary, run an update of the other components with the help of a server setup.
3. Start the Tomcat server (ELO Application Server).
4. Open the Tomcat Management Console in your browser.
The Tomcat Management Console is available using your computer name or the URL localhost on the local system.
5. Go to the following URL in your browser:

Alternatively: If ELOprofessional is installed, enter the following URL:
http://localhost:9090/manager/html
The ELO Administration Console is displayed in the Tomcat Web Application Manager under Applications.
6. Click AdminConsole in the ELO Administration Console.
The ELO Administration Console opens in the browser.
