Objective

You want to search for a document in ELO.

There are different ways to find documents in ELO. You can either use ELO iSearch or the metadata search.

Step by step with ELO iSearch

ELO iSearch is the default search tool in the ELO Java Client.

1. Switch to the Search work area.

Information: On the Search tab, you can switch to the metadata search and configure the search settings.

2. Enter a search term in the search field.

3. Click Start search.

Result

The search results are listed.

Step by step with the metadata search

The metadata search function searches the fields of metadata forms. You will find the Search metadata function under Ribbon > Search > Search logic.

1. Click Search metadata.

The Search metadata dialog box opens.

2. Select a search form in the column on the left.

3. Select a search field and enter a search term.

Information: To search all fields, enter a term in the All fields field.

4. Click OK.

Result

The search results are displayed.
