Load new version

With ELO for Mobile Devices, you can load a new version of your documents to document changes to files.

Version, load newNew version, loadLoad, new version

To load a new version, you can choose between two options:

  • With the ELO for Mobile Devices app
  • With an external app

Load new version with ELO for Mobile Devices

1. Open the context menu for the document you want to load a new version of.

2. In the context menu, tap the Additional functions button.

The Additional functions drop-down menu opens.

3. Tap the Load new version button in the drop-down menu.

The Load new version dialog box appears.

4. Tap the document icon in the top right corner.

The Select file dialog box appears.

5. Select one of the following options to load a new version:

  • From file system: Opens the Select file: Detected file systems dialog box. Navigate through the folder structure on your device to select a file.
  • With another app: Opens an external app you can use to upload files to the repository.
  • Take a photo: Opens the camera app on your device to take a picture, which can be uploaded to the repository.

6. Select a file or take a picture.

The new file is shown in the Load new version dialog box.

7. You can make the following changes:

  • Version: Change the version number in the Version field.
  • Comment: Enter additional information on the version in the Comment field.
  • Non-deletable version : Select this option to prevent the version from being deleted from the ELO repository.
  • Adjust document date: Enable this option to update the document date.

8. Tap the OK button in the top right corner to load the new version.

The new version of the document is filed. The Load new version dialog box closes.

Load new version with an external app

You can also upload files to the ELO repository from external apps.

1. To upload a file from an external app to the ELO repository, use the Share function in the respective app.

A dialog box for transferring files to the ELO repository appears.

2. Tap the Load new version option.

The Load new version dialog box appears.

3. To select the document you want to file a new version of in the ELO repository, tap the SELECT TARGET DOCUMENT button.

The Select document: Repository dialog box appears.

4. In the repository folder structure, navigate to the document you want to load a new version of.

The History tab contains the target folders and documents you have previously selected.

5. Confirm your selection with OK.

The Select document: Repository dialog box is closed. The selected file appears in the Load new version dialog box.

6. You can make the following changes:

  • Version: Change the version number in the Version field.
  • Comment: Enter additional information on the version in the Comment field.
  • Non-deletable version : Select this option to prevent the version from being deleted from the ELO repository.
  • Adjust document date: Enable this option to update the document date.

7. Tap the OK button in the top right corner to load the new version.

The new version of the document is filed. The Load new version dialog box closes.
