Working with document templates
Objective
We want to create a new document with the help of a document template.

- Templates must be created in an application such as Microsoft Word.
- There must be a document template in the repository, such as for Microsoft Word documents.
- You must know the name of the folder with the document templates in the repository.
- You must know where the document is saved in the repository.
Information: Assuming you have the corresponding permissions, you can define a central folder for templates in ELO. To do this, you need to select the template folder in the configuration. This option is located under User account > ELO menu > Configuration > Administration > Technical presets.
Step:
1. Open the Repository work area.
2. Select the folder in the tree view that you want to file the document to.
3. Click the Start tab on the ribbon.
4. Click Document from template.
The Document from template dialog box appears.
5. Open the folder with the document templates and select the appropriate template.
6. Click OK.
The Insert file dialog box appears.
7. Enter the keywording information for the new document and click OK.
The Check out dialog box appears.
8. Click Save as.
The document appears at the bottom of the screen.
9. Click the document.
The external application starts.
10. Make the desired changes to the document.
11. Save the document and close the external application.
12. Click Select file and select the file you want.
13. Click Upload and check in.
Result
The document is now located in the designated folder in the repository.
