Upload and check in

The dialog box is split into two parts:

  • Download and edit: You need to save the document locally to edit it.
  • Upload and check in: You need to check in an edited document to unlock it.

Download and edit

1. To edit the document, click Save file as.

Optional: A Windows dialog box may appear. Select one of the options, e.g. Save or Save as.

The document is checked out and a copy of the document is saved locally to your computer.

The document now appears in the In use work area in the ELO Web Client. There is a yellow arrow in front of the document name to indicate that it has been checked out and is locked for other users.

2. Open the locally saved file with a corresponding editing program.

3. Make the desired changes to the document.

4. Save the file.

You can now upload and check in the file to the repository. This action files a new version of the document.

Upload and check in

To check in a checked out document, you need to upload the edited file to the repository.

1. Click the folder icon and select the desired file.

Alternatively: Drag the file to the Drop file here area.

Additional fields and the Upload and check in button appear.

2. Click Upload and check in to upload the changed file and to check in the document.

The edited file is saved as a new version of the document. The lock is removed.

Close: Click Cancel to cancel the action.
