Licensing
The ELOxc license model maps Exchange mailbox users to a single license based on identity data that ELOxc transfers to an ELO repository. If a license is not used for a longer period, it is freed up again after a certain amount of time has passed. Your personalized serial number determines what the license for an installation includes. You need to register this serial number in the menu item Licenses before you run ELOxc. This also applies if you are using ELOxc Tools.
LicensingService maintenance1. Enter the serial number to the Serial field.
2. Click the Set Serial button.
The serial number is registered via ELOix.
There are productive serial numbers, which enable users to evaluate the product, and test serial numbers, which expire after a certain time. Test serial numbers can be turned into productive serial numbers.
Productive serial numbers, however, can only be exchanged for productive serial numbers. These contain a larger number of licenses.
The number in the User Count field corresponds to the number of available licenses. A license is deemed to be in use from the moment a user transfers data to the ELO repository. If the number of available licenses is exceeded, ELOxc will continue to operate to a maximum of 20 percent above the configured threshold. If usage exceeds this threshold, ELOxc is deactivated and cannot be used until sufficient licenses are available. One way to do this is to re-use licenses that are automatically freed up after a certain period or to register a new license with a new serial number. The user identity is selected for processing Exchange elements.
Please note: Group mailboxes such as "Journal recipients" or "Shared mailboxes" are always fully resolved within the scope of automatic licensing in order to determine the license usage. For example, if there are 20 mailboxes in a mailbox database with one journal recipient, 20 licenses will be used. The same applies for "Shared mailboxes". If "Shared mailboxes" are also associated with a "Journal recipient", the delegates of a "Shared mailbox" also use one license each in addition to the user mailboxes of the journal.
