Export (ExportDef)

The export action reads the element data from the data source, determines the documents that are to be stored in ELO and defines a keywording template.

Export actionAction, exportExportDef

It is also possible to configure filters for file attachment names and sizes if the elements are to be split and stored in ELO, which is determined using the export mode.

Click the Export button in the Action Trees area of the action tree you created.

The Options area opens.

Select the export mode from the drop-down menu in the Mode field.

  • WHOLE: Elements are archived as a whole. This is the recommended default setting.
  • SPLIT: Elements are split into a main document and associated file attachments. If the default settings are used, this also creates a folder in the repository that contains all elements. The folder name corresponds to the name of the main document.
  • MAINDOCONLY: This mode ensures that file attachments of elements are removed before the main document is archived.
  • ATTACHMENTSONLY: This only archives the separated file attachments. Again, if the default settings are used, this also creates a folder in ELO containing the individual documents.
  • SPLITATTACHEMENTS: This mode is a combination of "WHOLE" and "ATTACHMENTSONLY", i.e. elements are archived as a whole, and the file attachments are also transferred to the repository as separate documents. As with "SPLIT" and "ATTACHMENTSONLY", a folder is automatically created as a container for the documents that are generated.

Select a template for the keywording form from the drop-down menu in the Keywording template field.

Click Advanced to open the advanced configuration settings.

AttachmentNameFilter:

Mode: Select SIMPLE, REGEX, CONSTANT or FIELDNAME. These options affect the type of filter constructed by the Pattern field.

  • "SIMPLE": Enter a plain text string to the Pattern field as a filter. You may use * and ? as wildcards. A simple pattern is converted to a regular expression within ELOxc.
  • "REGEX": Enter a regular expression as a filter.
  • "CONSTANT": Enter a text to the Pattern field as a filter. This mode type does not support wildcards.
  • "FIELDNAME": Enter a field name to the Pattern field as a filter. Exchange items without this tag will be filtered out.

Options: If you selected REGEX as the filter mode, you may select from a number of options for the expression. These options are listed for the simple type MatchModeType in the ELOxc Technical Reference.

Pattern: Enter the pattern for the element filter here. The type of entry you make to this field depends on what you selected in the Mode field.

Type: Specify whether each filter entry should either reject a file attachment ("exclude" type) or explicitly include it as a relevant export ("include" type).

AttachmentSizeFilter:

Value: Do not enter anything to this field.

SizeMin: Enter a value in this field to specify a minimum size for attachments in bytes.

SizeMax: Enter a value in this field to specify a maximum size for attachments in bytes.

The action is successful if all configured target documents are ready for export.
