Rule - Importing a ZIP file (ELOas transport module)

Example

This example describes how to import a ZIP file to the ELO repository.

Step by step

Filing a ZIP file to an incoming folder

Incoming folders are monitored in ELO. Every time you file a new ZIP file to an incoming folder, the ZIP file is imported into the repository where you can process it.

Create rule

The rule files the ZIP file to the ZIP inbound folder of the repository.

The rule moves a document from the folder.

1. Open the ELO Automation Services in the ELO Administration Console.

2. Click Add.

3. Enter Import ZIP file as the name for the new rule.

The rule is entered to the Name list in the left-hand area of the program.

4. We want to import the file into the ELO repository. Select the Document keywording form.

Please note: A group field can only be assigned to one index field when used with ELO Automation Services. This is necessary to ensure that index fields will be assigned correctly.

Group

5. Define a processing interval.

Interval

8. Click Save.

The settings for the Import ZIP file rule have now been saved.

Defining rules (Rule1)

The rulesets for the documents found in the incoming folder are defined in one or more rules.

Rule, define

1. Enter the script code for the rule.

Example of an import

tfim.checkForImport("C:\\Temp\\Incoming\\Documents-13-03-2016.zip");

Alternatively: Modify the settings using the Rule tab.

You can make additional changes to the script, such as for filing the document to the ELO repository.

2. Save the settings and the rule definition.

The rule can now be used for processing documents and will run at the defined intervals.

Information: You should also define an error rule. This rule defines what happens if an error occurs when running the Import ZIP file rule.

Defining an error rule

An error rule (Global Error Rule) is valid for all types of documents which cannot be processed.

Error rule

Example: In our example, the relevant documents will be moved to the ¶Import¶Error folder.

1. Enter the name for the error rule.

Error rule, global

Alternatively: Apply the name Global Error Rule.

2. Select the OnError option from the drop-down menu.

3. Specify a folder in the ELO repository to store documents that were not filed due to an error.

Optional: To make changes to index fields, add index fields by clicking Add. Make changes to the index fields as desired.

Result

The Import ZIP file rule is executed by ELO Automation Services every two minutes. The ZIP files are moved from the incoming folder to the ELO repository.
