Getting started
The client provides you with the means to quickly and easily synchronize e-mails and attachments between Outlook and an ELO repository. The data can be processed further here.
IntroductionFolders, keywording, display
First, you will create a new folder structure in ELO where your e-mails will be stored. You can create folders from the context menu (right-click an existing folder, New folder entry) or via the ribbon (ELO Document > New group > New folder function).
Assign folder names with the keywording form that automatically appears. Now, drag the e-mails to this folder. Each e-mail will need to be keyworded. Additional filing information (date, editor, etc.) is included.
You can change the division and layout of individual program windows in the Configuration dialog box.
Working in the repository
The ELO repository requires the information provided in the keywording so that you can later organize, move, and search for contents. Run the search in the iSearch search bar located above the list view. The ELO Search tab appears and offers you additional options to refine the search.
In the repository, you can move single or multiple e-mails and folders via drag-and-drop or copy and paste. You will then be asked whether to move the original or create a reference.
E-mail functions
You can send and forward filed e-mails and their contents right from the repository by clicking the corresponding button, and is as easy as in your e-mail program.
Insurance against deletion
The contents in an ELO repository are nearly impossible for users to delete for legal reasons (compulsory record retention). This is why contents which have been deleted, either intentionally or unintentionally, are only hidden.
Simple operation
Optimal usability and smooth operation were priorities when developing the program. You can move elements as normal with drag-and-drop and with the usual shortcuts. With many program elements, right-clicking opens the context menu, which offers additional functions and configuration options.
Requirements
All program examples require a functioning ELO repository and a current client. If errors occur while working with the repository, please contact your administrator.
You can find individual functions in the index at the end of the manual or in the Functions chapter.
