Repository work area

General

The Repository work area is the central work area of the client. This is where you manage your documents and data. For example, you can create new documents and folders, open documents in read-only mode, or send documents in different formats.

Please note: The documents in the Repository work area are only opened in preview mode. To edit a document, use the Check out and edit function on the ribbon (Document tab) or in the context menu.

If there are a lot of documents in your repository, it can be helpful to create an additional view. A view shows a section of the repository. It is also shown as a tile in the tile navigation.

To create a new view, select a folder in the Repository work area. On the ribbon, click View > New view. The New view dialog box opens. The name of the selected folder is entered by default. If required, change the name of the view. Click OK.
