Configuration - 'Display' category
The following topics and settings are contained in the Display category:
Configuration, displayDisplay, settingsGeneral
Maximum number of entries in the folder: Specify the maximum amount of entries that will be shown when you open a folder.
Improved list functions: If you select this option, you have access to the functions infinite scrolling and server-side sorting. These additional functions are used when displaying folders in the viewer pane. For further information, refer to Basics chapter > Program interface section.
Save view settings for each work area: Enable this option to save the view settings for each work area (width, items on the ribbon, selected entry, etc.).
Information: If you enable this option, you will not be able to restrict searches to the current folder.
Example
You select a PDF document in the Repository work area. Then you switch to the Clipboard work area to view an image document. When you go back to the Repository work area, the PDF document is displayed automatically.
Open supported documents with Office Online: If you select this option, supported document types (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and, depending on the settings, PDF) can be opened for viewing in browser applications that support Office Online.
Show preview documents with the web preview: If you enable this option, preview documents are displayed with an integrated web preview. If this option is not selected, the image preview is used instead. The image quality in the web preview is better than in the image preview; however, annotations cannot be shown here.
Warning: An additional plug-in is required for TIFF documents.
Information: With most formats, you need to create the preview documents in advance, e.g. using the Create document preview function in the ELO Java Client. The Image preview function (Ribbon > View) also needs to be selected in the ELO Web Client.
Show preview in background: This option applies to file types shown with the web preview. If this option is enabled, the corresponding documents are shown in the background as soon as another component (e.g. a dialog box or tool tip) has to be shown in the foreground. If this option is disabled, documents in the web preview are hidden.
Show contents of the priority fields in the repository tree: Enable this option to show contents of the priority fields in a keywording form in addition to the short name in the repository tree.
Appearance
Color scheme: Choose the color scheme of the ELO Web Client.
Enable ribbon: This function activates the ribbon, otherwise it is hidden.
Show document date in the repository tree: If you enable this option, the document date is shown in front of all documents in the repository tree.
Show folder date in the repository tree: If you enable this option, the folder date is shown in front of all folders in the repository tree.
Show browser notifications: If you enable this option, you will receive browser notifications when there are new items in My ELO.
Information: This function is available in all browsers that support web notifications.
Show version information in additional columns: If you enable this option, you will see five additional columns with the editor of the most recent version (user), the comment, the version date, the size and file extension.
Information: This option may cause the tables to take longer to load.
Search
Maximum number of open searches: Specify the maximum amount of search queries that may be open in a session. When the maximum number has been reached, the oldest search is closed automatically.
Maximum number of search results per page: Specify the maximum number entries that will be shown in the search results.
Maximum number of search suggestions: Specify the maximum number of search suggestions that will be shown in the list.
Information Entering too high a value can result in performance problems. We do not recommend values over 100.
Show results text or hits: If you select the Results text setting, the full text excerpt that contains the search term shows up in the search results list. The search term is highlighted. If you enable the Hits option, the hits for the search term will be shown. If you select the Disabled option, the search will be faster.
Faceted search: Enable this option to perform a faceted search. The faceted search is an alternative method for using filters. ELO automatically suggests possible filters for the search that the user can add.
Task list display options
Refresh task list when opened: This option automatically refreshes the list when you open it. If the task list is running in the foreground, the list will not be refreshed automatically.
Refresh interval in minutes: Specify how frequently you want the task list and the tasks counter in the Tasks work area bar to be refreshed automatically. Entering a value of 0
automatically disables the refresh function.
Show tasks due in the following number of days: Specify how many days in advance tasks should be shown in the task list. This option applies to the Date column.
Maximum number of tasks to display: Specify how many tasks you want to be shown on one page of the task list. Independently of this setting, you can view all tasks if you scroll through the pages. The sort order in the table only applies to the tasks on the current page.
Information Entering too high a value can lead to performance problems.
